A day with a Mad Hatter | Royersford, Philadelphia Childrens Photographer

Yesterday my family hosted a Mad Hatter’s tea for some friends as kind of a last hoorah for our friend leaving this week to start their new adventure in Oklahoma. I had been preparing for this party forever and couldn’t wait! My only disappointment was at the time of the party there was seriously high winds and rain and so we had to move it inside. I didn’t get the photos I so wanted but I got to spend time with some of my favorite little people ever and have a party with some of my best friends. It was a good day, even if it wasn’t what I imagined.

My middle child was the “mad hatter”. I sewed all three of the children costums! I will take them each out for photos but Davis got played on first! I have been taking some time to play with light and discovered what is call Off the Camera flash. I can’t tell you how excited it makes me and I hope I can get some clients who might be interested in messing around with it more! I can just picture some amazing engagement shots with some funky lighting. I am also looking for someone who may have a prom dress for a “trash the dress” session if anyone is interested. Drop me an email, there are always some freebies in the works! gail@gailannephotography.com

I am also considering offering up some of these costumes for “Fairy Tale” mini sessions. I have a good collection and would be happy to make some more! They could be really fun!

Happy Monday all! Hope you have a fantastic week!

Photography Class

I am so excited to be offering a beginners photography class on Saturday, February 20th from 3-5pm. It’s my first one so that makes it even cooler! What should you expect to walk away from this class with?

  • How to break out of the “auto and program” modes on your camera
  • How to avoid using flash
  • What is shutter and aperture
  • What is white balance anyway?
  • ISO is what?
  • Lighting indoors and out.
  • When to use your flash
  • Composing that shot- rule of thirds, getting close, change that angle

And hopefully more! This hopefully will be the first class of many. I am only taking a few students to start. Please register soon to make sure you get in!

The class fee is 40.00. It includes the class, access to a private forum you can use for talking after the class and photo critic and a special “gift”. If course a class booklet as well!

To sign up, click here.

You will need to bring your camera and manual. We will take a few minutes to step outside and do a few shots for you to later upload to the forum!
